GenPhyto’s expertise is built on over 25 years of research and management experience, covering genetics, genetic engineering and functional genomics (Gen), as well as the tissue culture and molecular biology of plants (Phyto). GenPhyto was established by Dr. Barry Flinn (PhD - Botany, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, CANADA), based on his extensive plant molecular biology, genomics, tissue culture/transformation development and biochemistry research experiences in Canada, the USA, and New Zealand. His efforts have focused on basic biology, commercial biotechnology applications and intellectual property development, allowing him to bring hands-on, theoretical, scientific publication, grant writing and IP experiences to any opportunity. Research Planning

Our research planning service assists you in setting clear objectives and actionable plans to achieve your goals. We can provide detailed literature analyses of specific plant biology topics, outline candidate experimental system approaches, budget and equipment list development, and aid with research proposal development/writing. Guest lectures and classes on plant biology and biotechnology can also be provided.

Experimental Design and Analysis

Our experimental design and analysis service assists you in experimental design, execution and analysis to answer your specific research questions. We can provide training in various plant research methods, including plant tissue culture, molecular biology, protocols, protein isolation, recombinant protein production, protein analysis, functional genomics, genetic transformation methodology, and beneficial plant-microbe interactions.

Research Management

Our research management and research administration service focuses on managing research efforts. We can help with the coordination of project efforts, including reporting of project specifics (financial, research progress), stakeholder/outreach/media presentations and other components of project communications strategies, as well as management and research mentoring activities.
